Our story

Devnode Core Advisory was founded in 2018 by Mei-Ling Tsai, who spent fourteen years in operations management at manufacturing firms in Tainan and Kaohsiung before moving into organizational development consulting. Mei-Ling noticed a recurring pattern: capable employees were promoted to supervisory roles with little preparation, then left to figure out people management on their own. Some succeeded through instinct; many struggled silently until a performance issue or team conflict forced intervention.

The firm was created to fill that gap — not with multi-day leadership retreats or generic management certificates, but with focused, practical advisory work tied to each manager’s actual team and situation.

What we believe

Management is a craft, not a personality trait. Some people have natural interpersonal warmth, but the skills of setting priorities, delegating, giving feedback, and running effective meetings can be learned and practiced.

Context matters more than frameworks. A warehouse supervisor in Yongkang faces different challenges than a clinic ward lead in downtown Tainan. We adapt our approach to your industry, team size, and organizational culture.

Small teams deserve serious attention. We work primarily with managers overseeing teams of three to twenty-five people — the scale where one supervisor’s habits directly shape daily work life for everyone.

Our team

Mei-Ling Tsai, Founder & Lead Advisor Former operations manager with an MBA from National Cheng Kung University. Mei-Ling has guided over eighty manager transitions across manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and professional services in southern Taiwan.

James Wu, Associate Advisor Background in human resources and labor relations. James leads our team communication workshops and supports clients navigating performance conversations and role changes.

Lin Yu-Han, Program Coordinator Manages scheduling, client correspondence, and session materials. Lin is often your first point of contact when you reach out.

How we work with clients

We begin every relationship with a conversation — no lengthy intake forms or automated assessments. If we believe we can help, we propose a specific engagement with clear scope, timeline, and cost. If your situation is better served by another resource (an employment lawyer, an executive coach specializing in C-suite roles, an HR outsourcing firm), we will say so directly.

Most of our advisory work happens in person at client sites or our Tainan office. We serve clients across Tainan city, Kaohsiung, Chiayi, and surrounding counties.

Community involvement

Since 2020, we have offered pro-bono transition planning sessions for managers at two Tainan nonprofit organizations each year. We also contribute articles to local business associations on the topic of first-time management.
